  1. The vids look great. Might need to speed up for experts and slow down for beginners.
Maybe make different videos for the different levels of expertise.

  2. I liked the rig. It is the same rig that I use all the time when fishing for trout. The one thing that I didn’t realize was to keep slack in the line. I will have to try that next time. thank you.

  3. Joe, Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it. I’ll be creating more videos soon.
I’m also in the process of creating a homemade floating bait and would like some field testers.
If you’re interested, just reply and I’ll put you on the list of Trout Ninja Field Testers.

  4. Great energy and straight forward explanations on how to catch trout. I really liked the reasons for the slack line and how to set up the leader for the weeds by making the leader longer. The video that was zoomed in with the hooks, pennies, snap swivel and line was also beneficial.

  5. i want to be on the list of Trout Ninja Field Testers. i fish all the time for trout andi greatat it thanks. what is the best lure you use for trout.

  6. Damien, I’ll put you on the list. I’ll be sending a questionnaire out to all who
ask to be a Trout Ninja Field Tester because there’s an approval process
and a confidentiality agreement because of some trout catching secrets and tests
we need to keep in “stealth” mode. Thanks in advance for your patience. We’ll talk soon.

P.S. Lures: All depends on situation. I’ll cover lures and secrets in videos I’m developing.
Any input you have on what you like and use is always appreciated.

  7. I think this rig will work really well in the lakes in my area. Thanks for sharing this technique.

  8. Dale, Hey thanks for your comment. Use and enjoy. More vids on the way.
I’ll let you know as soon as I release another.

  9. This rig is awesome! I fish in Mission Viejo lake also, and its great fishing. I would also like to sign up to be a trout ninja field testers. I have a bunch of lakes in southern California. Thanks for taking the time and effort to help us out.

  10. Big O, Dig that name! You are on my follow-up list for Trout Ninja Field Testers.
All I ask right now is your patience, especially while I develop a “top secret”
bait. Any suggestions for types of videos you’d like? Thanks for the comment!

    Thank,
    Big O from Cali

  12. Hey Mr Ninja<

Thanks for taking the time to help us out. I would love to see some other tips and videos on catfish or sturgeon fis rigs and tips. I had a big sturgeon a few weeks ago and because of not having the right equipment i lost it right at the end and it was huge! I dont ever wann loose a fish that big AGAIN, EVER!!! Thank you so much Your awesome!!

  13. Hey Big O,
I’ve got some friends that are truly Catfish Ninjas. Catfish is not my expertise, but I’m certain
there’s a lot of good stuff out there and maybe we’ll have a bonus video for all catfishin’ crazies.
Sturgeon? Man, that’s outta my league. But I wouldn’t mind catching one some day.

  14. Hey Big O,
I forgot to mention, the guys and gals that really knock the huge catfish out-of-the-park
around here use 8 to 10 foot rods (like surfcasting gear) with 15 to 30 pound test.
Because they don’t want to lose a 30 pounder on flimsy trout gear!

  15. Hi ,
I was reading you are looking for some trout ninja field testers for your new bait. I would love to try it out. I only fish rainbow trout at Del Valle, so it would be exciting to see your new stuff in action. Also thanks for all the instructional videos, they are extremely helpful. I’ve nailed 3 1.5lbs rainbow trout with the rig you show in your videos

  16. looks like a new way to me i will give it a try and let you know what i think of it looks like it will work ,THANKS!

  17. This is what fishing videos should be about. Most of the videos I have seen only show the host catching the fish, with no instruction how to catch the fish. Hey if you need a tester in New Jersey let me know.

  18. PRETTY GOOD VIDEO I’VE BEEN USING THAT RIG FOR YEARS IT WORKS GREAT IN OUR LAKES AND PONDS HERE.

  19. Jack, Thanks for your comment. What part of the country(state/city) are you fishing in? More vids to come.~ Trout Ninja

  20. Hey T.N. nice rig, I’m going to a lake in upstate Pa. this weekend will try it out there. Need a tester in Pa let me know.

  23. Hey Miles, I am so happy this works for you. Because the trout don’t feel the weight of the slip sinker, they tend to swallow the bait and many times hook themselves. That way you feel the hits. Tell me what else might help you out. Maybe a bite alarm? You don’t see them around the U.S., but they are very common with competition fisherman in Europe. ~ Trout Ninja ~

  24. Please let me know when you will be stocking the lake at Stone Lake, Sussex, NJ.
    Thank you.

  25. Hi James, Good news. Bad news. I wish I was in charge of stocking, but I’m not. However, I found a link for you for New Jersey. They have a Stony Lake listed. And it’s been stocked already! Hope the link below helps you. Lot’s of Trout in NJ. Now GO CATCH SOME TROUT!

  26. interesting, i fish south eastern pa. chester creek, wissahickon creek , darby creek, and ridley creek, also scuykill river, i will put it to the test tomorrow at wissahickon thank you sir

  27. Mike, Thanks for commenting. May the “catching” be great. Because Fishing is Good. But Catching is Better. ~ TN ~

  28. Thanks TN, I’m older but new to your techniques…they are very interesting…going to try it on NC streams…tks

  29. Trout Ninja, I live in nort Georgia, and there arn’t many trout lakes close by, so I fish rivers and streams with ultra light spinners. Do you have any videos on spinner fishing for trout? I found your video quite informative and will try using your rig when I fish Lake Burton.

  30. hey trout ninja i loved the vidio i have been using this rig for years and insist on the slack in my line no matter how many people tell me hey you should take that slack out of your line glad to hear someone else back me on that and i would love to know some home made trout baits to try i have great luck with trout now but would love to have a few more tricks in the bag feel free to e-mail me for product testing or some recipes and i will let you know how i do keep up the great work

  31. That rig looks great, can’t believe all the years I’ve been fishing, I never really thought of it. I’m from the Pittsburgh area and fish around here all the time. I’ll definitley be trying this rig out on sunday at Herferd Manor, I’ll let you know how it works out.

    Thanks,
    Keith

  32. Tom, My apologies for not getting back to you sooner. Slack gives you a chance to see what the trout are doing so you can be ready. If you didn’t get my email regarding applying to be a Field Tester, just send me an email to [email protected] and tell me why you should be a Field Tester. Give me a few days to respond since I also have a “day job”. ~ TN ~

  33. Hey Jim, No vids on trout spinner fishing yet. But it’s on the list. Sorry I took so long to get back to you. ~ TN ~

  34. i am retired and i do a lot of camping and trout fishing in eastern west virginia. i look forward to trying this rig for trout. i would like to be one of your testers for your new bait. i use a lot of power bait, salmon eggs and spinners. i have a question about power baits, how much difference does it make about the color? i have had better luck with orange. thank you

  35. Hey Arthur, Thanks for coming by. Eastern WVA is God’s Country!

If you’d like to be a Field Tester, make sure you put your name and email in the sign-up box on
    the website here at http://www.TroutNinjaTV.com.

I’ll send you an email and just reply with your shipping address. What happens next is I’ll send an email to all Field Testers when I’m ready to make another batch or my test baits. That way I know how much to make. The process is delicate and very expensive. And the Field Testers have had tremendous results. Some say it works better than powerbait.

Now, your question about powerbait. Everyone has their personal favorite. I have caught trout with nearly every color of powerbait. Right now, I have a jar of the “rainbow” color in my tackle bag. I’ve successfully used that color in murky Kentucky lakes and super clear California lakes. But I haven’t touched powerbait since the end of April this year when I finally discovered (through trial and error and a bunch of money and a couple of scientists) my Trout Ninja floating bait formulas with appetite stimulants.

I look forward to having you sign up. So you can test and report back your findings. That way we can improve the Trout Ninja baits or even create new ones for you and the rest of the Field testers.
    God Bless You,
    ~Trout Ninja~

  36. what differences are there when fishing in the rivers as opposed to lakes? we live on the pecos river in northeastern new mexico, we like to fish as often as possible, also the river is very muddy due to extreme rains this time of year, what can i do to catch trout in those conditions?

  37. Hi Ronnie, You live in God’s Country! A couple of differences between rivers and lakes are current and the bottom (rocks and boulders vs. smooth) and both can have vegetation.
Another difference is it is a lot easier to know where the fish are likely to be in a river or stream. I have not had as much experience with muddy rivers. But some of the lakes where I test my Trout Ninja floating baits are pretty muddy and I still catch stocked trout. I suggest trying the slowest water in the river and any pools. Also, if the river is getting a lot of fishing pressure and no one is catching fish, then unless you use dynamite, you may have to wait for the river to clear up. If any readers can help Ronnie, please comment. Thanks, ~ TN ~

  38. I have used the same set-up in the Rio Grande river with the same success. I used worms and had a great day of fishing. Used 6LB line tho. Thanks for the video.

  39. Rodney, Thanks for watching. I’m glad to see you are kickin’ it hard! Funny you mentioned 6 lb line.
On stocked trout, Trout Ninja Field Testers haven’t really seen a difference between 6, 4, or 2 lb test.
I think we just freak each other out thinking we’ll get more hits if we have lighter line.
The “lighter line” theory definitely holds true with wild trout in crystal clear water, but otherwise, stocked trout will
hit with a heavier line. I think I’ll do a crazy test where I use a 20 lb leader vs. a 2 lb leader to see which
gets the most hits. See you soon “Now Go Catch Some Trout (or other fish) ~ TN ~

  40. I think that the trout Ninja killer is a great hook up,and i can not wait to try it thank you for the tip.

  41. Calvin, you are welcome! Use it and show others how to use it. It feels great to catch and show others how to catch. Come see us at http://www.TroutNinjaTV.com

  42. the only change I would suggest is to use a swivel w/o the snap in your rig. I fish in a river, so the egg sinker is a little heavy in a current because I want the bait to float in the current.

  43. Thanks for the comment. Yes. Depending on the current speed, river fishing tactics need to be tweaked. Lots of Field Testers also fish rivers successfully with the Trout Ninja Killer Rig, but I expect most of the catching is in slow or deeper pools vs. riffles/fast water. I also prefer no snap, unless I’ve pre-tied different leader lengths and I’m “speed” fishing. Meaning I’m trying to beat my fishing buddies in a First, Biggest, Most contest. Come Back Soon ~ Trout Ninja ~

  44. These pictures rimned me of that Brad Pitt movie, A River Runs Through It. I think they were flyfishers, but it looked similar. I remember loving watching those scenes, something kinda spiritual about it all somehow. Maybe that sounds silly, but your images evoke that same kind of feel. Great work.
